Come join your AE community at the annual Florence Forth Road Race and AE Family Lunch on March 3, 2018 in Durham, NC.
It’s a chance for AE survivors to join together and share stories. The center piece of the weekend is a walk/run on Saturday morning called Florence Forth. Then after the walk/run is an AE Family Lunch for all to gather together.
It’s not too late to join. There are three ways to participate: sign up to run or walk Florence Forth, sign up for the family lunch , and create a fundraising team.
The race is named in memory of Florence McDow, who wore a pink cape while she bravely battled AE. That’s why Florence Forth’s logo is a caped runner. When you participate, you’re a hero to those AE families that you are helping.
The theme of Florence Forth is Capes are Optional. Doing Good Isn’t. You don’t have to wear a cape to be a hero. And you definitely don’t have to wear one while running Florence Forth, though you can! Having battled AE, either personally, as a family member or as a friend, you have worn your own personal cape many times.
All monies raised by the race are used to connect patients, educate medical professionals, and fund research toward better treatments and a cure. Discoveries are being made every year and we are hopeful for the future.
