Support Groups bring together patients and caregivers that have been affected by AE. A support group provides an opportunity for patients and caregivers to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies, or firsthand information about AE and/or treatments. This support group is led by Therese Fledderjohn (OH). Her son Alex was diagnosed with anti-NMDAR encephalitis after being misdiagnosed for many years.

This Support Group is led by Rachael Bikbov (WA), a seronegative AE survivor.

Our Advocacy program, AE on the Hill, is all about raising awareness, sharing your unique AE journey, creating an impact, inspiring action, and changing lives. When we launched this program in 2020 our focus was on telling your AE story effectively. In 2021 we will prepare you to take your story to your legislators. More information to come.
