AE Alliance financially supports and facilitates research

May 4, 2021

A great example of AE Alliance facilitating research is the recently published ‘Best Practice Recommendations for diagnosis, acute-, symptomatic-, and long-term management of Autoimmune Encephalitis’.

The recommendations result from the hard work and collaboration between 68 AEA Clinicians Network members from 17 countries, initiated and led by Dr. Hesham Abboud (University Hospitals, OH). These recommendations will be of great value to AE patients and clinicians all over the world.

These publications evaluate available evidence for each step in the management of AE, providing expert opinion when evidence is lacking to come to best practice recommendations. These recommendations stand out because they represent the considerable experience of many specialist clinicians from different clinical and geographical backgrounds.

We launched the Research Network last year. Because of your support in 2020, we can fund three research studies focused on diagnosing, managing, and understanding disease outcomes of individuals with autoimmune encephalitis.

Join the Research Network today and invest in groundbreaking studies such as the ones done by Dr. Abboud.

Together, we can change the course of AE.
