Welcome, Meg Poe!

January 5, 2022

The AE Alliance is pleased to announce the arrival of Meg Poe, our new Director of Patient Support, Programs, and Administration. Meg started her work with the Alliance in December and has been busy immersing herself in all things AE over the last few weeks!

Meg has extensive training and program development experience, which will serve our AEA community well. Her prior experience includes roles as Director of Strategic Operations for VeraSci (formerly Neurocog Trials), Manager of Global Training and Development for Syneos Health, and Manager of Training and Development for Charles River Laboratories. She was an Associate in Research at Duke University Medical Center. In that capacity, she led neurocognitive assessment initiatives for the schizophrenia research unit while coordinating testing efforts for several large National Institute of Mental Health research projects. Meg is no novice to the medical arena, healthcare, or research.

Meg has also been a writer for Fifty-Plus Magazine in Baltimore, MD researching and authoring articles focusing on the quality of life and well-being for 50+ audiences. And she served as an adjunct faculty member of the Community Colleges system of Baltimore County, working closely with health education initiatives for the Baltimore Police Academy.

Meg holds dual BA degrees in Psychology and Physical Education from UNC-Chapel Hill, an MA in Experimental Psychology, and an MA in Exercise Physiology with a concentration on behavior change (also from UNC-Chapel Hill). Also of merit, Meg is national board-certified in health coaching and has worked extensively with the Parkinson’s patient community, including developing successful grant funding initiatives.

Some of you have already had the pleasure of meeting Meg. In September, the AE Alliance partnered with Meg to launch our inaugural Refuel You health coaching program for AE patients and caregivers under our program banner Living with AE. Through this program, Meg’s work with our AE community led to her interest in continuing the AE journey as a key staff member of the Alliance. We are delighted to have her on the team and know that you, too, will share our enthusiasm as you get to know her.

Please join us in welcoming Meg to her new role with the AE Alliance!
