The AEA Beginning (Again) with AE Support Group invites individuals whose AE journey is impacting their life as they begin to find their way in the world or is causing them to “begin again” – starting a career, moving out on their own, building new relationships, building a family, etc.
Discussion topics may include making or managing friendships, dating, finding a job, raising children, etc.
This peer-led, Beginning (Again) with AE support group was initiated in response to individuals with AE ranging in age from late 20’s to early 40’s feeling isolated and not having a place to share their challenges with AE during this stage of life. The group is not defined/limited by age. We hope to build our community by topics relevant to individuals with AE that are finding their way into adulthood for the first time or maybe again. It is a pilot group and will continue based on attendance, participation, and feedback from participants.
This group is lead by Rachael.
Email info@aealliance.org and request to register for the Beginning (Again) with AE Support Group Meeting.
Please note: All AE Alliance support groups are peer-led and do not provide medical advice. Our support groups offer an opportunity for patients and caregivers to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies, and firsthand information about AE and/or treatments. Each person’s situation is unique and we do not suggest that there is a single, standard way of navigating the illness. All attendees respect and value the privacy of every participant and agree not to share or disseminate any personal information of other AE Alliance support group attendees.
