Elizabeth Wells, M.D., is a graduate of Harvard University, the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the NIH/Duke Masters in Clinical Research program. She completed her pediatrics and neurology training at Children's National, with a special focus in neuro-oncology. She is the Medical Director of Inpatient Neurology, emphasizing safety and quality. Dr. Wells is Associate Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Dr. Wells serves as a pediatric neurologist in the Brain Tumor Institute and co-leads the brain tumor long term survivors' clinic. Her research investigates neurologic effects of cancer treatment. Dr. Wells also directs a multidisciplinary clinic and associated research program for paraneoplastic and nonparaneoplastic autoimmune encephalitis and is co-leading national efforts to develop standardized outcome measures and better treatments.
