My role with the Alliance is a labor of love – a genuine compassion for the people who suffer from this horrible disease. Immune dysfunction is so frightening. We often take for granted that our bodies will function as designed, and our immune system will protect us from infection and disease. For the AE patient, these expectations are upended. AE presents difficult challenges for those who encounter it. My aspiration is that through the work we do at the Alliance, we can bring hope, support, and healing to our patient community.
