The AE Alliance is proud to participate in Rare Disease Day, launched by EURORDIS and its Council of National Alliances, on February 28. We appreciate the Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance and the National Organization for Rare Diseases bringing us into this day of recognition. This year’s slogan is “With research, possibilities are limitless.” While each participating organization is focused on separate disease, we understand the power of working together to raise awareness of all rare diseases. “In the case of autoimmune encephalitis, we know from experience that early diagnosis and aggressive treatment lead to the best long-term patient outcomes. From greater awareness comes hope for lessening the suffering of patients and their families,” states John Spencer, Executive Director of the AE Alliance.
The Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance improves the lives of patients with autoimmune encephalitis by promoting collaboration in clinical and basic research and by creating a community of patients, families, and caregivers so that no one faces autoimmune encephalitis alone.
The AE Alliance strives to find a cure for autoimmune encephalitis through multi-disciplinary, collaborative research, and clinical care. The AE Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all services are free of charge. For more information visit www.aealliance.org.
